Lamentation 5

08.28.2010

You’d think, with a title like Lamentations, this book would go on and on.  It just sounds like a dreary, interminable book full of woe.  Nope.  There are just five lamentations, so today we finish with the book.

The last lamentation focuses, appropriately enough, on the future and on the wish of the people to be restored to their God.  They’ve gone through the stages of grief, they’ve confessed their sins and God’s righteousness, and now they seek His restorative grace to rebuild them again in His image.
