Haggai 2 & Ezra 5:2

Reconsidering my post yesterday, I think I’ve found the best way to describe what’s going on with the resettlement of the Jews.  The resettlement makes sense to me as sort of a security deposit for the eternal restoration and redemption of God’s people, however defined.  So, yes, the Jews will be dispersed again, and the rebuilt temple will again be destroyed.  This doesn’t have to mean that these elements are not divinely ordained or that they lack legitimacy.  Consistent with the pattern of Jesus’ miracles (raising Lazarus, saving the adulteress from death), I see God as demonstrating on a micro scale the redeeming work He will eventually accomplish in all of creation.
